St. Thomas Church was built in the year 1852 by Rev. Paranjothy who came along with Tamil
sepoys of Trichirapally Regiment, to serve in Secunderabad Cantonment under Nizam's rule. Working with the Tamil sepoys, Rev. Paranjothy further made inroads among the Indian
Christian population in and around Secunderabad areas.
The Nizam of Hyderabad willingly gave a piece of land near Secunderabad railway station
and Rev. Paranjothy constructed the Church and named as St. Thomas' Church.
Rev. Sebastian who succeeded in the year 1877 acquired properties in and around St. Thomas'
Church and registered them with Secunderabad Cantonment Magistrate as properties of Secunderabad St. Thomas Mission.
St. Thomas' Church is being administrated by the subsequent Committees to date. Rapid migration of Christian people from South especially by the Tamilians, the Church has
undergone series of changes as St. Thomas Tamil Cathedral and ministered by the Tamil

In the year 1993 the Church joined with A.C.I at Kottayam under the leadership of Most. Rev.

We are stepping into the beginning of another decade. There is so little done -so much to do.
For what we have been able to achieve we can but repeat what our Lord has taught us to say
that we are but unprofitable servants. Therefore we go forward in the sure knowledge of the
presence of our Lord - even He who hath said "Lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world".
